CUofSS signs MoU with Israel on agricultural training

The Catholic University of South Sudan (CUofSS) has taken another significant step towards strengthening international partnerships and enhancing practical education through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Israel. The agreement was signed on 8 July 2026 in the Vice Chancellor’s Office at the University’s main campus.

The signing ceremony was attended by Rev. Bro. Dr. Bruno Amuri Dada, Vice Chancellor of the Catholic University of South Sudan, Rev. Sr. Dr. Kiden Christine Janet, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (DVC), Mr. Jimmy Pitia, Advisor to the Vice Chancellor, and H.E. Kedar Gershon, Ambassador of Israel to South Sudan.

The partnership marks the beginning of a collaborative initiative aimed at strengthening agricultural education and promoting practical skills development among CUofSS students.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Catholic University of South Sudan has nominated ten (10) students to participate in a competitive selection process. The students will be interviewed by an agricultural training centre in Israel, after which five (5) successful candidates will be selected to undertake an 11-month agricultural internship in Israel.

Upon successful completion of the internship, the graduates are expected to return to South Sudan and apply the knowledge and practical skills acquired by working at the Nyamini Demonstration Farm, where they will contribute to agricultural innovation, knowledge transfer, and sustainable food production.

This collaboration reflects the University’s vision of producing competent graduates equipped with practical experience, professional excellence, and a commitment to serving their communities.

The Catholic University of South Sudan expresses its sincere appreciation to the Government of Israel and the Embassy of Israel in South Sudan for this valuable partnership. The University looks forward to the successful implementation of the programme and the positive impact it will have on agricultural development and youth empowerment in South Sudan.
